You've Got Mail

Happy Tuesday everyone! I thought I'd take the time and express another one of my erroneous thoughts of gratitude: getting mail. I'm not talking junky e-mail that all we do is throw away or those nasty coupon for $0.50 off your next purchase when you buy $100 or more, or worse, bills. I'm talking about the magazines, college letters (and e-mails), conferences you wish you could go to, catalogs, and the letters from various people and occasions. The going to the mailbox, checking to see your name, and then, you see it: the Cosmopoliton magazine you've been dying to see. Or a postcard from the college of your dreams. Instant happiness, all within an envelope! Maybe it's just me getting overly excited over something as simple as mail. Everyone gets mail. Why get excited? Well, I'll tell you why-it's a surprise. It's a little unexpected gift, if you will, to receive a letter wanting you, needing you, asking you, enticing you for various occasions. It kind of gives a false sense of worth, doesn't it? But it can be seen in a much brighter light. From that fake sense of worth comes new knowledge that would not have been known before, and from there we receive the real self-worth. It really is a simple thing to be thankful. Almost kind of silly, actually. But, nonetheless, it is a simple happiness that must be seen as a blessing in disguise. Something as small as a letter can become the greatest pleasure of the day. Have a great day!
P.S. It's that time of year again-The Victoria Secret Fashion Show 2012! Grab your sweatpants, bowls of ice cream, and tissues as you see the lovely Candice (my personal fave) and Miranda (okay, she's my fave, too) as these angels strut their stuff in teensy yet pretty panties and bras. One of the greatest nights of television of the year!

xoxo
