Snow

I'm baaaack, my lovelies! This whole week off I gathered lots and lots of information to enlighten all of you! So as you all know, I was away at Beaver Creek, Colorado with the family for a first time ever ski trip. Let me tell you, what you see on T.V. about the Olympic skiers just flying down the slopes like no one's business-not like that. Not like that AT ALL. First off, my ski boot (mind you, 20 lbs per boot) bruised my shins to the point that I could not walk or apply pressure of any sort to any area below my knees. So, skiing for four days was a blast with excruciating pain. But, I must say, that was the worst of the trip. Be proud everyone, I mastered the bunny slopes in four days. The scenery, though, was what I loved the most. I am coming from humid, sweaty, flat land with a 70 degree February with an occasional 60. I fly up to Colorado, and my heart literally swells with beauty. I see snow (y'all, snow does not exist in Louisiana like it does in Colorado. I fan-girled over frozen water.) I see mountains. I see my breath. And I see the occasional nose bleed due to the thin air and my weak nose. But let me tell you, the atmosphere was wonderful! I could just look out at the mountains and just let my mind wonder. I was astonished by the beauty around me, and I could not have been more grateful. I bundled in every single piece of clothing I had (3 layers on, everyday. If you guys have every seen Joey from F.R.I.E.N.D.S with all of Chandler's clothes on, that was me.) The warmest temperature was a solid 12, with the coldest being a -2. I am the proud survivor of two snowstorm, one of which I motor skiied through on top of on of the highest mountains in the area. I highly suggest engaging in such activity for a ride on the wild side, but if you do so, make sure you cover your mouth so you don't end up like Ronald McDonald (yes, I look like Ronald McDonald :[ ) I also suggest that if you do go skiing ever, make sure you look feminine and girl-like (I was told that I was a boy by a chair lift guy-needless to say, I was offended). All in all, the trip was fabulous, and I am so happy I had the opportunity to go. Seeing the world from a different perspective opened my eyes to the beauty this world has. I hope all of you have a happy Monday.

xoxo
K
