In the Blink of an Eye

Life doesn't change its course for anyone. We walk, talk, move, speak, run, scream, fight, love, believe, wander like any other day. We go on with our lives with oblivion to what may happen. And then it happens. Recently, a young teen in my community died. I am not going to go into any of the details, but for someone like myself hearing of someone younger that you know has died can send a shock wave through you. I have not had many personal experiences with death. However, I have had many experiences with beauty and good things coming from bad things. This tragedy has brought broken people, people with little similarities  together. This tragedy has taught that love can conquer all, just as the respectable teen taught. The community has come together to give us, an untainted environment, a wake up call. What I'm trying to say is is that this can be related to any horrible event. There are lessons to be learned through life's travesties. We just have to recognize them through our pain in suffering. And how will we get through it all? Love. I'm not trying to be some peace, love, happiness hipee that's high on life and is completely naive to any sort of bad. What I am, though, is a strong believer that your loved ones and other things that you love will be your rock in times of trouble. Family, friends, co-workers, even the strangers that bring a smile to your face can uplift your spirits. Hobbies, beloved jobs, pets-all of those will keep your perspective clear. Life can change in the blink of an eye-make sure you have an unchanging foundation to keep yourself from falling apart.
