Story Time

We all know that each person has a story. Do we really take that seriously though? No? I typically don't. I mean, it's nice, but who could ever relate to my story? Why do I need to hear other stories? I'll tell you why. To inspire. To grow. To heal. We all know pain firsthand, but do we know how relatable we all are to one another? Case and point: I grew up with a guy and basically knew nothing more than his name and his family. We talked every once and a while, but being the shy and timid person I am, I never initiated any sort of conversation. Eleven years roll around, we end up going to a retreat and learning so much about each other. Our struggles, pains, longings, fears-they were all so similar. I've known this person for eleven years and practically knew nothing about him before that day. I now consider him to be one of my good friends. The people around you can inspire you if you let them. You would literally be shocked to know how similar you are. All pain is similar if we choose to find the similarities. That way, we would surely never be alone. Be thankful for the people around you for they may help you become a better person. Have a great Thursday!
