Welcome to North West Airlines...Oh Wait

I hope you all get that I am referring to the recent birth of Kimye's baby. In all honesty, I like the name North, but when you are trying to be puny...poor kid. Can you just imagine her in school? "Hi, my name is North West, and I am not a little up there and to the left." I was hoping for Kaidence, in all honesty, but who knows? Maybe she can be able to give great directions. Let's hope she doesn't make them always go north west.

***i apologize for all of my necessary puns throughout this entry. But y'all. Come on.***

After

I know what you're thinking: I didn't keep my promise of writing. I have an excused absence, though, loves: my sweet, wonderful, funny, loving grandfather has left this world and on to Heaven. These past few weeks I have been tending to him hand and foot, and on June 23, he gave his life to cancer. When they tell you cancer sucks, they really mean it. It sucks the life out of the person as well as the ones that love that person the most. He was a fantastic man. I sure miss my Pop.

However, my best pal would sure love it if I told you guys what I have been up to this lovely summer. For starters, I had my dance review, the two days a year you will see me with so much makeup you could hardly recognize me. It was fun, for sure, but I am glad I finished for the year.

On to the other thing that's been keeping me busy: I, ladies and gentlemen, have a job. A real one, too. I work at a medical office (okay, it's my dad's, but whatever) by scanning charts into an electronic filing cabinet. So basically, I'm putting charts on a computer. But still. Y'all. This is big.

I'm afraid that I don't have a lot of fashion and worldly updates for you due to the fact that for the past three weeks I haven't had a life besides being with my grandfather. This will change by next week, my friends, so stay tuned.

Fierce

There's always that picture that will completely horrify you, but then there's that picture you will say to yourself, "dang lil momma, when'd ya get so FIERCE?!" Or is that just me? No? Okay, good. I had my second to last dance review this weekend. While I danced my tiny little heart out, all of my super awesome dance friends and I took pictures. It made me realize how important capturing moments are and how important photos can mean to someone. A moment captured can make one feel strong, confident, beautiful. Of course, others can regret some moments. Nevertheless, photography is a dainty little thing.

Chopped

I did the dirty deed. The unspeakable. The disgusting. The worst thing a woman can do.
I chopped off all of my hair.
And you guys, I don't regret it one bit.
Let me tell you something. Having a whole lot of hair is not the best thing to have. It's actually a pain. I feel a lot lighter and healthier with this 6 inch chop. So hello new hair! :]

Working It Out

Ladies and gentlemen: I have become a fit fanatic. Over the past two years, I have not taken proper care of myself nor my body. This summer, I've decided to change that. Not only am I living a healthier lifestyle of polo-pescitarianism, but I am doing intense workouts for an hour everyday. I know what you're thinking :only an hour? For now, yes. I am currently very busy with responsibilities and the beginning of a new job, so this will be a time of figuring out how I can add more hours in my day.

My Name is Kathryn and I'm a F.R.I.E.N.D.Saholic

It's a constant struggle for these lazy summer days (well, not too lazy-I still workout). It's the struggle of having a social life and being obsessed with the beloved TV show. I have mentioned this show a few times before, but let me reiterate that this is the best show in existence and everyone must watch it. I repeat. EVERYONE MUST WATCH IT. Okay, now that I have you're full, undivided attention, I can say that this show will take over a part of your life you will never get back. But this is totally okay. Everyone needs a hobby. Mine is watching F.R.I.E.N.D.S and working out. One more thing on your summer to do: watch all 10 seasons of this show from the beginning. You can join me on this adventure ;]

First Things First: Prom

You know how every girl dreams of that Hollywood prom movie without the carnivorous zombies but the cute boy and having the time of your life? Yeah. That didn't happen. At all. What so ever. It was an experience, nonetheless, that I don't mind keeping. I would love to talk to you all about my dress. Now, that day was not a "hey you are a beautiful person" day (girls, you can all relate). I do look back, though, and see things from the outfit that worked. The theme was "Gala at Gatsby's" in honor of the movie premiere. I decided to go as the infamous green light. The red pops of color really brought something to the whole outfit. I look back and say that this all worked. I just wish I could have seen it then. Lesson to be learned: if your diva day is on an important day, make sure you can look back and see how great you really looked.
