This past week, I decided to go all out and experiment with my wardrobe.
The first outfit (not all shown) is a fuchsia maxi dress with an empire waist and small detailing over chest. I wore a chambray shirt over the dress, tying the tails of the shirt to add something to the dress. I wore simple, BCBG brown, leather wedges. My jewelry consisted of a single cheetah-print bangle. The perfect out-on-the-town outfit.
My second outfit was simple (not all shown). I wore a white lace shift dress with sleeves, a statement necklace, and plain nude pumps. A simplistic look with a natural face and a sweet headband completed my Easter look.

And All We Do Is Paint
So due to my lack of posts for this past week (business) and this upcoming week (mission trip), ill update you guys on life. I've been working on a charitable project called hopefest, which simply entails helping those in the community. Thirty people showed up at my house to paint signs. After 3 days and a total of 21 hours, the deed was done. Hope you all put some effort in your community this spring!

Puerto Rico, CapĂtulo Uno
Tonight I embark on the trip of a life time: mission work in Puerto Rico. We will be working with young orphaned boys and helping in the community. As much as I would love to post cute outfits, I'm afraid that I don't have any. I will keep you all updated on this journey. Hoppy Easter everyone, may your days be blessed ahead!

(500) Days of Summer
This past Friday I had the pleasure of a movie date with a pretty awesome person (me). The movie of the night was, of course, (500) Days of Summer. And let me tell you, this makes me mad, simply because Summer doesn't realize what she has. Ever. And then quickly leaves and gets married to a new guy within a year. It just reminded me not to take advantage of people and to stay with my word. Hope you all have the chance to watch this.

Equal
Life's too short to be anything but happy. Recently, I'm seeing Facebook and seeig marriage equality. I'm not sure everyone's stance on this, but I do believe in happiness and that we can't help who we fall in love with. Due to my religious affiliations, I'm caught between a rock and a hard place. My religious affiliation states that homosexual marriage is wrong, yet i have many friends that are gay. I am with my Catholic Church on this by believing in their teachings on the stance. With all of this though, respect, love, and happiness are my only guaranteed rights but traditional values. Equality is a right, not a gift.

Ain't Nobody Got Time For That
Please excuse my poor attempt at a rapper's dialect, but often we make excuses about everything. "Oh well I'm tired, so homework can become lunch work." Or "yep, not getting up today." Laziness, business, and tiredness seem to run our daily lives. Why must three attributes run something that is greater than any attribute out there? Let find some more positive things to worry about.

The Hills Are Alive
Despite my cheesy musical reference, I visited the one and only Spring Hill this past weekend. Mind you, I'm obsessed with the college, so I am going to be very biased and say that Spring Hill is awesome and everyone else isn't. Here are some lovely pictures I took.

Road Trip
After a long, excruciating week, the one thing on my mind is a get away to get away with the typical daily routine and boring responsibilities. I can finally catch up on reading, T.V., fashion, life, everything and anything. Hope all of your weekends are just as fun and relaxing as mine!
***Fun Fact: Today, March 15, is the Ides of March. This is the day Julius Caesar was infamously assassinated. Now you can tell all of your friends. You're welcome.***

Fairy Tales
Everyone knows your classics like Cinderella or Snow White or Beauty and the Beast or Sleeping Beauty. We all want the fairy tale love that the people in the story share. And from time to time, we all get envious to a degree over the people that share this love in real life. But what makes them so appealing and receptive of the fairy tale love that we are not able to achieve? I believe in soul mates, but a great percentage of us will not find our soul mate. However, we will fall in love with someone that we get along with and have similar interests, and we will work for the fairy tale love. It won't be like the stories, but it'll be new. If you do find your soul mate, kudos to you two. If only the rest would find theirs, too. So, if you are single or in a relationship that requires work, my advice is this: patience will big the fairy tale love.

Growing Up
Everyone gets sentimental from time to time. I have a sister that is three years younger than me and is trying out for the high school dance team today. As protective as I am of her, I can't stop picturing her as a little girl with her hair slicked in a hard headband and a pink rubber band on her wrist. She has grown up to be such a confident, kind, and free teenager. If only I could have said the same things about myself at her age! I guess The Perks of Being a Wallflower was right. Life doesn't stop for anybody. The little girl that has grown up to be a very best friend doesn't need me to protect her as much anymore. I hope you all cherish the time you have with the ones you love, because, let me tell you, it goes by quick.

Good Luck
Everyone here's it, even when it's not really meant to be said. Wishing someone good luck has always been a common practice, but why luck? Granted, some people NEED the luck, but what if they don't? Wishing you knowledge? Wishing you that don't mess up? Wishing you don't trip and fall in front of anyone in the middle of the hallway? Well, some things are just not really luck worthy. However, when you try out for a team, you need luck and experience. So good luck to you all, in whatever you do!

Nickname'd
Is it just me or is there something endearing about a nickname? I think that when people put in the time and effort to come up with a sweet name besides the one you were born with just shows how much they love you. Being that my name is Kathryn, Kat, K, Kitty, Kathy, Mary Kate (first name's Mary), MK, and Kit have always been popular, as well as Mitchell (I have three sisters-when people can't remember our names, this is usually what I am called). I also have my childhood names like Bird or Birdy (When I would talk, I'd chirp like a bird), Lion (my crazy hair), and Big Stuff (I like to do things by myself). Not only do I respond to all of these names, I give people names as well. It can be an easy ice breaker or a way to recognize the type of friendship you have. Hope all of you have a wonderful weekend!

Dainty Little Pictures
I don't know about you guys, but I love artistic pictures. Something about the thought out detail and precision can really just brighten my day. I often use this pictures to decorate my boards, along with magazine photos. I usually get my pictures from Pinterest and Tumblr. Hope all of you have a happy Wednesday and take some time to look for great pictures!

Who Let the Dogs Out?
So besides my corny 90s reference, I want to talk about man's best friend. I've had my first dog for almost 9 years now. This little West Highland Terrier (Charlie) has been a little blessing. He can be a stubborn brat, sure, but can't all dogs be? No matter what I do, though, I can always rely on my dog's unconditional love. Have a dog-gone day!
*i apologize if you are a cat person. But a cat is not going to play fetch with you. ,So I'm writing about dogs. I may be biased but you should really invest in a canine friend. Again, I love cats. But I am forever a dog person.*

Good Vibes
TGIF, everyone! And thank goodness for that. It's been such a long, stressful week. However, this weekend will make up for it all. Today, I had a long chat with pretty cool friend of mine. I'll be pretty busy this weekend with family, friends, and other obligations, but I'm not stressed out. Instead, I've got good vibes about the weekend. Maybe because it is well-deserved. Maybe because I am sleep deprived and delusional. Either way, I hope you all feel the same. Have a wonderful weekend.
